The 28th China International Pet Show (hereinafter referred to as: CIPS) has come to a successful end, with a record number of overseas visitors attending the show, and a 73% increase in overseas visitors compared to the previous year. Among them, 98% of the overseas visitors indicated through the questionnaire that they would plan to continue to participate in the CIPS next year.
The number of people from the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Brazil, Russia, Japan, South Korea, India, Southeast Asia, Australia and other countries and regions has grown even more significantly. In addition to the old friends of the Great Wall Pet Show for more than 20 years, more and more emerging forces choose to come to the show to expand their business, and although they are there for the first time, they will spread the news of the Great Wall Pet Show to more places and come with more peers in the future.
We interviewed some of the buyers on the show floor and will be speaking directly to them about the pet aquarium market as they see it.
1
Can you briefly introduce your company?
ZENSUI CO.,LTD is a Japanese company that makes equipment around fish tanks, mainly chillers, and reptile supplies.
2
Which of your products is more popular in Japan?
In Japan, climbing pet supplies will sell even better.
3
Do you think the global aquarium industry is growing or stagnating?
I'm not sure about the state of the global aquarium market, but it seems that the aquarium market in Japan has come to a standstill.
This is mainly due to the high risk of installing large fish tanks as a result of the frequent earthquakes in Japan. As a result, the Japanese market has seen a gradual rise in demand for smaller aquariums from the standpoint of damage reduction and ease of management.
In addition, the number of people keeping climbing pets as pets has increased significantly in Japan in recent years. In light of this trend, I believe that the reptile pet industry will continue to flourish in Japan in the coming years.
4
What are your future plans for cooperation and development in the Chinese market?
I believe that the Chinese market is full of both challenging and fascinating products, and I look forward to establishing a close partnership with the Chinese market in the future to jointly promote the development of the Japanese aquarium and reptile markets.
I hope that through our cooperation, we will be able to further expand the development of the aquarium and reptile fields.
5
How many CIPS have you attended?
How does your first participation compare to this one?
I had attended the 2023 CIPS show in Guangzhou. Compared to last year, the aquarium product sector was as rich in manufacturers as ever, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a number of up-and-coming reptile pet manufacturers making an appearance. This phenomenon reminded me of the Japanese market, where the reptile market is booming while the aquarium market is relatively stagnant. As a result, I was impressed by the growth potential of the reptile market, as well as the challenges facing the aquarium market.
6
Is there anything else you would like to say about CIPS?
It is a pleasure to have good encounters at CIPS every year and I look forward to seeing the development of the growing Chinese market and products using the latest technology in the future.
