The 1st Asian Butterfly Koi Competition

The 30th China International Pet Show (CIPS 2026) will be held at the China Import & Export Fair Complex, Guangzhou from November 12 to 15, 2026. As a key concurrent event, the expo joins forces with Jiangmen Qiyi Butterfly Koi Breeding Farm for the first time to present a world-class butterfly koi competition.

This event unites enthusiasts worldwide to celebrate the beauty of butterfly koi, a perfect blend of nature and meticulous craftsmanship. Come and experience this extraordinary aquatic spectacle.

1. Co-organizer: Jiangmen Qiyi Butterfly Koi Breeding Farm

Jiangmen Qiyi Butterfly Koi Breeding Farm operates over 100 mu of water farming areas, plus a 5-mu professional breeding workshop in Heshan, Jiangmen. We keep more than 1,000 pedigree parent fish in stock year-round, with an annual output of over one million fish. Our products are mainly sold wholesale across China and exported to Southeast Asia.

2. Competition Schedule

This inaugural competition consists of two stages: online preliminary and on-site final. Only fish that pass the preliminary judging will qualify for the final round.

3. Group Divisions

The competition is divided into six main categories

White Medium Size (30 – 40 cm)

White Large Size (Over 41 cm)

Red Medium Size (30 – 40 cm)

Red Large Size (Over 41 cm)

Open Class (Other Colors) – Medium Size (30 – 40 cm)

Open Class (Other Colors) – Large Size (Over 41 cm)

Juvenile Fish Display Class

4. Awards Set

To boost the development of the industry, the inaugural Asian Butterfly Koi Competition is unveiled as a flagship new event of the CIPS With strong support from Qiyi Butterfly Koi Breeding Farm, the total prize pool for this competition reaches RMB 65,000. Aside from the overall champion award, prizes are also offered for class winners and special accolades, encouraging more breeders and enthusiasts to take part.

The competition features six main classes, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd places awarded in each, making a total of 18 honors. All winners will receive trophies and certificates. In addition, five special awards are presented: People's Choice, Best Fins, Largest Specimen, Best Coloration and Best Head Shape, each accompanied by a trophy and certificate.

Every participant will be issued a participation certificate personally signed by the chief judge.
