Recently, China’s first live pet cats declared under the 9710 cross-border e-commerce B2B direct export mode have finished customs clearance in Shenyang and been successfully delivered to South Korea.

Meanwhile, Liaoning’s first and Northeast China’s exclusive professional venue dedicated to the storage and customs clearance of cross-border live pets has been officially put into operation. This marks that the cross-border trade of live pets has stepped into a new stage featuring standardization, high efficiency and large-scale development.

The exported animals are British Shorthair cats, purchased by South Korean buyers via overseas independent websites. The whole operation strictly complies with customs quarantine regulations, animal welfare requirements and international air transportation standards. All formalities including microchip implantation, vaccination certification and customs declaration have been properly handled, realizing simplified declaration, rapid clearance and eligible tax rebates.
Compared with traditional trade modes, the 9710 model boasts simpler declaration procedures and more flexible clearance arrangements. It shortens the customs clearance period by one day, which perfectly fits the export characteristics of live pets: small order volume, multiple shipments and high time efficiency, and fills the domestic market blank of such export mode.
As China’s largest pet breeding and supply base, Liaoning is home to the Northeast Asia Pet Trading Center located in Shenyang Free Trade Zone, enjoying multiple favorable policies. In the future, the center will further improve the full industrial chain of cross-border pet business, explore overseas markets in depth, and build itself into the leading cross-border e-commerce export hub for live pets across Northeast Asia.
