The 3rd Asia Clownfish Competition

The 29th China International Pet Show (CIPS 2025) will be held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou from November 13 to 16, 2025. The 3rd Asia Clownfish Competition (China) 2025 will be held concurrently.

 

Clownfish are deeply loved for their bright colors, lively habits, and symbiotic relationship with sea anemones, and they will be the absolute stars of this competition. Breeders will showcase their high-quality captive-bred clownfish to compete for honors, awards, and industry prestige. Co-hosted by CIPS and 36 Hai Yang Pte Ltd, this top-tier clownfish competition warmly invites all clownfish breeders, enthusiasts, and industry practitioners to participate. We also look forward to welcoming audiences to the venue to enjoy this grand event in the aquatic industry.

As Asia's first competition of its kind, the "Asia Clownfish Competition" has opened a new chapter in the ornamental fish industry.

- 1st Edition (2024): Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Singapore

- 2nd Edition (July 2025): Held concurrently with the Asia Garden & Aquascape Show (AGAS)

Competition Jury

In previous editions, the participating clownfish were judged by an international panel of experts from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan (China) and other countries and regions. George Mavrakis, founder of CoralFish12g from the United States, served as the invited judge, and Su Wenping, an iconic figure in the marine aquatic industry, served as the chief judge. Partial information about the judges for this competition is announced now, and details of other judges will be released successively in subsequent special introductions of the jury lineup.

The jury evaluates the participating clownfish based on multiple dimensions, including fish health, body color performance, morphological symmetry, species rarity, and overall display effect.

 

Ken Kwan - Singapore

Senior aquarium curator specializing in the design and construction of public aquariums. He has led the design, construction, and planning of many well-known public aquariums worldwide, and has profound experience in the construction of ecosystems in large aquariums, optimization of display schemes, and maintenance and management of rare aquatic organisms.

 

Liam - Taiwan, China

Head of the STB clownfish brand and a senior practitioner in the field of clownfish breeding. He has rich experience in the breeding of characteristic clownfish and the development of new special varieties, and supplies rare and exclusive clownfish varieties to the global market.

 

George Marverick - United States

A YouTube blogger and well-known influencer in the aquatic field with over one million followers. He is the founder of the American Aquashella Exhibition, enjoys wide influence in the aquatic industry, and is deeply engaged in fish appreciation and aquatic culture communication. His content is both professional and popular, and is highly concerned by aquatic enthusiasts around the world.

 

Competition Categories

The competition is divided into three categories: "Percula Clownfish Group", "Ocellaris Clownfish Group", and "Hybrid/Wild/Open Group". The competition demonstrates that senior breeders have been able to cultivate highly diverse clownfish varieties through selective breeding and refined genetic management.
