The 29th China International Pet Show (CIPS 2025) will be held from November 13–16, 2025, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou. To further ignite the passion of betta enthusiasts and facilitate close interactions with experts, CIPS is once again partnering with the Small Ornamental Fish and Shrimp Branch of the China Fisheries Association to co-host the world’s premier betta fish competition.

The International Betta Congress (IBC) Show-Class World Championship is a prestigious global aquarium competition with widespread influence. Despite its name, which highlights "betta fish," the IBC strictly prohibits any actual fighting between fish. In fact, this is purely a beauty pageant-style event, dedicated to showcasing the vibrant colors, exquisite forms, and graceful elegance of bettas. Renowned for its professionalism and rigorous standards, the championship holds high acclaim within the industry.

According to IBC regulations, the world is divided into seven regions, with China belonging to Region III. The IBC General Convention, the highest-level event in the betta community, will be held outside the United States for the first time this year. This grand gathering will far surpass any previous betta competition in scale, bringing together the world’s top breeders and enthusiasts for this prestigious, world-class event.
