According CIPS International Aquascaping Contest (CIAC) organizers, CIAC 2019 starts accepting entries and they made a Major Change in CIAC Regulations. CIAC accepts works sent in for other aquascaping contests in 2019.

About CIAC & CLIAC

CIPS International Aquascaping Contest (CIAC) is co-organized by the China Aquascape Association (CFAA) and China International Pet Show (CIPS). The Goal is to make the freshwater aquarium hobby grow by inspiring worldwide hobbyists and creating a bigger awareness for nature. CIAC is an online contest.

CIPS Live International Aquascaping Contest (CLIAC) is a live team contest held on CIPS each year. The teams consist of top 100 CIAC contestants, and sometimes, even judges, creating works on site within one day, using limited materials provided by the organizers in tanks of the same size. CLIAC might differ each year, bringing a lively and intense show.

Review of 2017 and 2018

Take a look back at CIAC 2017, it has attracted more than 800 contestants from 24 countries and regions around the world, with total prize amount of RMB 250,000, of which the champion has rewarded the highest in the industry of RMB 100,000. CLIAC 2017, with 33 aquascapers from 11 countries/regions, created a new form of competition on show site.

CIAC 2018 has pooled together contestants from 27 countries and regions, with a total of 1115 entries in 2018. Nano aquarium and the paludarium were newly added into the contest. CLIAC 2018 had 21 teams competing at the same time on CIPS 2018. All performance was live broadcast, pooling about 1.5 million views on social media. .

CIAC online contest has become more and more professional, attracting professionals from all over the world. With Internet celebrity, live broadcast, master performances, and new surprises on CLIAC each year, CLIAC has become increasingly attractive.

CIAC 2019 Schedule

1.       Registration：

Time: April 1st – August 30th, 2019

CIAC 2019 Categories

In 2019 contestants can participate in 3 different categories:

1.       NANO AQUARIUM

Aquascape with live aquarium plants

No minimum size. Maximum size 1500px length. Maximum water body 120L

2.       MEDIUM TO LARGE AQUARIUM

Aquascape with live aquarium plants

No maximum size. Minimum size 1525px length. Minimum water body 120L

3.       PALUDARIUM

Rain Forest scape with live aquarium and terrarium plants

Combination of under water and above water

Minimum 25% and maximum 50% of the paludarium must be under water

Minimum 50% and maximum 75% of the paludarium must be above water

No minimum/maximum size.

CIAC 2019 Categories Entry rules

·         CIAC welcomes contestants of all nationalities, age and level of aquascaping experience

·         Entry deadline: Aug. 30, 2019

·         Registration should be done online at www.chinaaquascape.org. 

·         If you haven’t received any confirmation one week after your registration, please do not hesitate to contact us cfaa@vip.126.com.

·         Contestants can enter in 1, 2 or all 3 categories.

·         Only one single work can be submitted per category, please choose your best work!

When more than one work per category is submitted, the organizer will randomly choose one work and disqualify the extra work(s).

·         Major Adjustment in 2019: CIAC accepts works sent in for other aquascaping contests in 2019.

·         Contestants must submit under real names. It is not allowed to submit work under a pseudonym or false name.

·         Contestants that violate the above requirements will be disqualified from the contest. The rankings, awards and honors will be cancelled.

CIAC 2019 Themes and Requirements:

·         The theme of CIAC include landscape planted aquarium or rainforest planted paludarium.

·         For categories nano and medium to large aquarium, only aquascapes with true live aquatic plants will be accepted. The aquarium can have live animals. The selection of the type and size of the animals should be in relation to the layout and tank size.

·         For category paludarium, only rain forest scapes with true live aquatic and terrarium plants will be accepted. The paludarium can have fish in the underwater part however no live animals in the above water part.

·         Hardscape-only works and marine tanks will not be accepted.

·         A combination of true live plants and hardscape is allowed, as long as the focus is on live plants.

·         For open top aquariums submitted in the category nano and medium to large. aquarium, only the underwater part will be judged. Paludariums will be judged both under and above water.

·         Layout Composition and plants Arrangement (20 points)

·         Technical Skill of Creator (20 points)

·         Long Term Maintenance of Layout (20 points)

·         Presentation of Natural Atmosphere (10 Points)

·         Balance Between Fish and Layout (10 Points)

1.       MEDIUM TO LARGE AQUARIUM: ≥1525px in length (below water), ≥120L water body

Champion (1 place): RMB100000, trophy, certificate

Second place (1 place): RMB30000, trophy, certificate

Third place (1 place): RMB10000, trophy, certificate

Fourth-tenth place (7 places): RMB 5000, certificate

Eleventh-twentieth place (10 places): RMB 3000, certificate

Twenty-first-thirtieth place (10 places): RMB 1000, certificate

2.       NANO AQUARIUM: ≤1500px in length, ≤120L water body

Champion (1 place): RMB10000, certificate

Second place (1 place): RMB5000, certificate

Third place (1 place): RMB2500, certificate

3.       PALUDARIUM: No limited size

Top 100 CIAC contestants participating automatically make a chance of being nominated for CLIAC 2019
